Bates E & E Supplies was
established
in 1969 by Fred Bates, former sales manager at Bach-Simpson Ltd. of
London Ontario. He started with the old Wilbac line of automotive test
equipment and then established himself as a stocking distributor of
Simpson and Wilbac panel meters and accessories along with Simpson Test
Equipment such as the 260 and the 635 and the TS111.
In 1984, he sold his business to his 7
year veteran employee, Helmut Balzer, who has successfully maintained
an honest and fair service establishment in keeping with Fred's
original ideals. Helmut was fortunate enough to find a loyal, dedicated
employee in Howard who started in 1984.
In 1988,
the company became incorporated as Bates
Electronics Inc. and is operating as such to this day. Helmut and
Howard ran the day to day operations.
On Mar 01, 2007 the business was sold to long term employee Howard who is working hard to maintain the status quo.
